Free iPod – The Freebie That Started It All

You may remember coverage from the likes of the BBC, CNN and NBC years ago telling you about these new referrals sites that give you a free iPod in exchange for completing a free trial and referrals.

Well we’ve come a long way since then, you can now get just about anything for free from the referral sites. Back then though the Apple iPod had only been released and people were going crazy to get one. The idea that you could get one for free caught the attention of people. More so than if they had offered cash, vouchers etc… an ingenious idea really.

You may have heard of a site called Freepay; they were one of the first referral sites to hit the internet. You simply signed up, completed a free trial and referred some friends. They give you 90 days to do all that and claim your free iPod.

That paved the way for many more referral sites. Some have came and gone, but one has stuck around and is now leading the way… that site is freebiejeebies. They are the number 1 referral site in the world now.

Their verifying times, support and postage is next to none. In the Freepay days you would have to wait months to receive your free gift once you got enough referrals. Now with freebiejeebies once you have enough referrals it takes no more than a week or two. Their support is excellent; they respond within hours.

Since they launched in March 2007 they’ve sent out thousands of free items. Between March 2007 and April 2010 they sent out a mammoth $1,206,364.47 worth of gifts ranging from popular consoles to fridge freezers to halloween party gear. With their custom order option you can get any item you want for free.

I will be doing a more in-detail post about freebiejeebies at a later date, so make sure you subscribe to the RSS feed and follow us on twitter so you don’t miss it. Link: Freebiejeebies
